GE, GE Profile, Café and Monogram refrigerator, ice maker, washer, dryer, dishwasher, oven, range and microwave repair. ALAS technicians read the GE code, find the failed part and give you a written estimate before any work.

Book NowGE appliance repair starts with the right diagnosis. GE refrigerators, dishwashers, ovens and microwaves report problems as codes, and newer GE washers show short messages such as H2O SUPPLY or UE. GE publishes what many of those codes mean, but often names only the area to check. An ALAS technician reads the code, tests the part behind it and confirms the cause before recommending a repair, so you only pay for what actually failed. We repair GE, GE Profile, Café and Monogram refrigerators, ice makers, washers, dryers, dishwashers, ranges, wall ovens, cooktops and microwaves for homeowners, rental properties and businesses across Dallas–Fort Worth. ALAS is an independent repair company, not affiliated with GE: every repair comes with a written estimate first, a 90-day warranty and 12 months on sealed-system work.

What GE says the most common codes mean, checked against GE’s own support pages. Codes vary by model, and your technician confirms the cause before any repair.
Tell us the code on your display and we will explain it.

GE refrigerator not cooling or washer leaking? Request service and we will get a technician to you as soon as possible. When a GE refrigerator stops cooling or a washer or dishwasher is leaking, request service and we will get a technician to you as soon as possible. If you smell gas near a GE range or dryer, leave the home and call your gas utility or 911 from outside first.
ALAS diagnoses and repairs every major GE appliance: GE refrigerator repair, ice maker repair, washer repair, dryer repair, dishwasher repair, oven and range repair and microwave repair. Our technicians read the GE code, check it against GE’s published meaning and test the part behind the fault before recommending a repair.
You get a written estimate before any work, and every GE repair carries a warranty: 90 days for non-members, 6 months for ALAS members, and 12 months for every customer on sealed-system repairs such as compressor and refrigerant work.
GE Appliances has been a Haier company since 2016. It makes GE, GE Profile, Café, Monogram, Haier and Hotpoint appliances, and many share parts and designs, so the same diagnosis process applies across the family. Café and Monogram appliances cost much more to replace, which usually makes repair the better choice.
GE and GE Profile model numbers always begin and end with a letter. GE puts the label inside the fresh-food section of a refrigerator, under the lid or inside the door of a washer, inside the door opening of a dryer, on the tub edge or door of a dishwasher, behind the oven door on a range and on the bottom of an over-the-range microwave. See GE’s model number guide (opens in a new tab).
ALAS is an independent repair company, not a GE authorized service provider. GE says its warranty period is typically one year, and GE’s own service brand, Bodewell, handles warranty repairs, so if your appliance is still covered, contact GE first (GE warranty information (opens in a new tab)).
Once your appliance is out of warranty, or if you prefer a local independent technician, ALAS diagnoses it, gives you a written estimate and backs the repair with our own warranty. Repair usually makes sense when the cost is under half the price of a comparable new appliance and the unit isn’t near the end of its life.
North Texas summers are hard on appliances. GE lists a room temperature range of 60°F to 110°F for its refrigerators, and a garage refrigerator or freezer can struggle once the garage passes that. GE also says its ice makers need the freezer near 0°F, so a warm garage slows ice too.
Long dryer vent runs collect lint and trigger GE’s Check Vent alert, and ALAS cleans dryer vents as well as repairing dryers. If your home has hard water, minerals can build up in dishwashers, water valves and ice makers over time; GE recommends changing refrigerator water filters every 6 months.
Yes. ALAS repairs GE refrigerators, freezers, ice makers, washers, dryers, dishwashers, ranges, wall ovens, cooktops and microwaves, including GE Profile, Café and Monogram models.
No. ALAS is an independent repair company and isn’t affiliated with GE Appliances. GE’s own service brand, Bodewell, handles GE warranty repairs. We repair GE appliances that are out of warranty or that you choose to have repaired independently, with our own written warranty.
GE Appliances, a Haier company since 2016, makes GE, GE Profile, Café, Monogram, Haier and Hotpoint appliances. We repair all of them. See GE’s company fact sheet (opens in a new tab).
It depends on the appliance: inside the fresh-food section of a refrigerator, under the lid or inside the door on a washer, inside the door opening on a dryer, on the tub edge or door of a dishwasher, behind the oven door on a range, and on the bottom of an over-the-range microwave. See GE’s model number guide (opens in a new tab).
GE’s resets differ by appliance: unplug a refrigerator for a minute or two, cut power to a washer for 2 minutes, switch off a range or wall oven at the breaker for a minute or two, and switch off a dishwasher or microwave for about 30 seconds. If a code returns, the part behind it needs repair.
GE says F2 means the oven temperature went above a preset limit. Switch it off at the breaker and keep it off until it is repaired if the code returns. See our F2 guide.
GE says C1 means the pump-out during drain ran more than 2 minutes. Clean the air gap, check the drain hose and run the disposer. See our C1 guide.
GE says the freezer should be near 0°F so the ice maker can reach 16°F, the ice maker must be switched on, and the water filter should be changed every 6 months. A flashing green light means the ice maker detected a fault. See our GE ice maker repair page.
In most cases, yes. Repair usually makes sense when the cost is under half the price of a comparable new appliance and the unit isn’t near the end of its normal life. Café and Monogram appliances are almost always worth repairing. Your technician will tell you plainly if it isn’t worth it.
The cost depends on the part and labor involved, so ALAS gives you a written estimate before any work begins. A diagnostic fee covers the visit and is credited toward the repair if you go ahead with it. If you decide not to repair, you pay only the diagnostic fee. Call (469) 638-3215 for the current diagnostic fee.
GE says its warranty period is typically one year, with some parts covered longer; Café states a 1-year limited warranty and most Monogram products carry two years. Check your Owner’s Manual, and contact GE first if you are still covered (GE warranty information (opens in a new tab)).
Repairs carry a 90-day warranty for non-members and 6 months for ALAS members. Sealed-system repairs, such as compressor and refrigerant work, carry 12 months for every customer. The exact coverage is written on your invoice.
