GE says F3 and F4 usually mean the oven sensor needs replacement. The sensor is the thin probe inside the oven that tells the control how hot it is, so without a good reading the oven can’t hold temperature and may stop heating. GE says codes vary by model, so confirm yours in your Owner’s Manual. Source: GE oven error codes (opens in a new tab).

GE points to the oven sensor. A technician also checks what connects to it.
Try the reset first. Let the oven cool completely before touching anything inside.
GE says switching the range or wall oven off at the breaker for a minute or two sometimes clears a code. Then turn it back on and watch the display.
If the code returns, GE says to schedule service and keep the oven off at the breaker until then. You can switch it on briefly to use the surface units.
Because GE says the sensor usually needs replacing, a technician tests it and its wiring first. It is usually a straightforward repair.
