LG appliance repair starts with the right diagnosis. LG refrigerators use linear and inverter compressors, LG washers and dryers use direct-drive inverter motors, and most LG appliances report faults as error codes. An ALAS technician reads the code, tests the part behind it and confirms the cause before recommending a repair, so you only pay for the part that actually failed. We repair LG refrigerators, freezers, ice makers, front-load and top-load washers, WashTower and stacked laundry, gas and electric dryers, dishwashers, ranges, ovens, cooktops and microwaves for homeowners, rental properties and businesses. Every repair comes with a written estimate first and a warranty of up to 12 months on sealed-system work.

More About LG Appliance Repair
Why Choose ALAS for LG Repair?
ALAS diagnoses and repairs every major LG appliance: LG refrigerator repair, LG washer repair, LG dryer repair, LG dishwasher repair and LG oven and range repair. Our technicians read the LG error code, use LG ThinQ Smart Diagnosis information when it is available, and test the part behind the fault before recommending a repair.
You get a written estimate before any work, and every LG repair carries a warranty: 90 days for non-members, 6 months for ALAS members, and 12 months for every customer on sealed-system repairs such as compressor and refrigerant work.
LG Linear Compressor Refrigerators
Many LG refrigerators use a linear compressor, which is quieter and more efficient than a standard compressor. When an LG refrigerator stops cooling, the cause can be the compressor, but it is often a fan motor, defrost part or sensor instead, which are simpler repairs.
Our technician checks temperatures, fans and the defrost system first, then tests the sealed system only if those check out, so you are not quoted a compressor job you do not need.
General frequently asked questions
Yes. ALAS repairs LG refrigerators, freezers, washers, dryers, dishwashers, ranges, ovens, cooktops and microwaves, including InstaView and French door refrigerators, linear compressor models, WashTower laundry centers and TurboWash washers.
Yes, most LG refrigerator problems are repairable. Fan motors, defrost parts, sensors, water valves, ice makers and control boards can all be replaced individually. A compressor or sealed-system failure is the main repair worth weighing against replacement on an older refrigerator.
The most common causes are a failed evaporator or condenser fan, a defrost system fault, a blocked air vent or, less often, the linear compressor. A technician tests the fans and defrost system first, since those are simpler and less costly repairs.
Linear compressors can fail from wear on internal parts, overheating caused by dirty condenser coils or poor airflow, and electrical faults in the compressor control. Before replacing a compressor, a technician confirms the fault, because fan and defrost problems often look like a compressor failure.
Ice buildup in the door ice compartment is a known issue on some LG French door refrigerators. It is usually caused by warm air leaking into the compartment or a fan problem, and it can be repaired so the ice maker works normally again.
OE means the washer cannot drain. It is usually a clogged drain pump filter or drain hose, and sometimes a failed drain pump.
UE means the load is unbalanced. Redistribute the clothes and run a spin cycle; if it keeps appearing with normal loads, the shock absorbers, suspension or a sensor may need repair.
These codes warn that the dryer vent is 80, 90 or 95 percent blocked. Clean the lint screen and the vent run to the outside; a blocked vent causes long dry times and is a fire risk.
Check your LG warranty before booking, since LG covers some parts, such as certain compressors and motors, for longer than the standard warranty. If your appliance is out of warranty, ALAS can diagnose and repair it.
In most cases, yes. Repair usually makes sense when the cost is under half the price of a comparable new appliance and the unit is not near the end of its normal life. Your technician will tell you plainly if it is not worth it.
The cost depends on the part and labor involved, so ALAS gives you a written estimate before any work begins. A diagnostic fee covers the visit and is credited toward the repair if you go ahead with it. If you decide not to repair, you pay only the diagnostic fee. Call (469) 638-3215 for the current diagnostic fee.
Repairs carry a 90-day warranty for non-members and 6 months for ALAS members. Sealed-system repairs, such as compressor and refrigerant work, carry 12 months for every customer. The exact coverage is written on your invoice.
