KitchenAid kitchens tend to be built in, panel-matched and hard to swap out, which makes a good repair worth more. We fix KitchenAid dishwashers, refrigerators, ice makers, ovens and microwaves where they stand, across Dallas–Fort Worth.

Book NowKitchenAid is the kitchen brand of Whirlpool Corporation, and in North Texas homes it usually means a quiet dishwasher with a third rack, a French door refrigerator, a wall oven or a range, often set into custom cabinets. That last part matters when something breaks: replacing a panel-ready dishwasher or a built-in oven is a remodeling job, while most failures are one part. Our technicians handle KitchenAid dishwashers, refrigerators and their ice makers, undercounter ice machines, ranges, wall ovens, cooktops and microwaves for homeowners, landlords and property managers from Plano to Fort Worth. A typical visit means decoding KitchenAid’s blink or display code, proving out the suspect part, and putting the cost on paper for you to approve. One note, because the brand makes both: we repair major appliances, not KitchenAid stand mixers or countertop products. KitchenAid and Whirlpool Corporation play no part in our business; we are independent.

Each guide is built on KitchenAid’s published help article and links back to it. KitchenAid codes shift between models, which is why a code is a starting point and the part gets tested before it is replaced.
Call with the code and the appliance type, and we’ll explain what it points to.

Dishwasher overfilling or refrigerator warming up? Book online or call for the earliest opening.A dishwasher that won’t stop filling, a refrigerator warming up with a week of groceries inside, or an oven that won’t shut off all deserve a quick visit. Book online or call for the earliest opening. Gas odor around a KitchenAid range or cooktop? Get everyone out, then phone your gas company or 911 once you are outdoors.
KitchenAid keeps its warranty statement short: standard limited warranties for new KitchenAid appliances typically run a year from delivery, the length varies by appliance and model, and dishwasher coverage can start from 2 years. Refurbished units may carry less. KitchenAid points owners to the warranty section of the manual, usually the last page, or to its owner center by model number (KitchenAid warranty guide (opens in a new tab)).
Because terms differ by model, we don’t guess at your coverage. If your KitchenAid is new enough to be covered, schedule through KitchenAid first. Once it isn’t, or if you would rather work with someone local, our pages for dishwashers, refrigerators, ice makers, ovens and ranges and microwaves explain what we check and how a visit runs.
A KitchenAid undercounter ice maker isn’t a refrigerator ice maker in a different box. KitchenAid undercounter ice makers are about 15 to 18 inches wide, with Clear Ice Technology on select models, and they have their own maintenance: a Cleaning light that calls for descaling about every 9 months, a filter rated for 9 months or 2,000 gallons, a drain cap, a drain hose or pump, and an air-cooled condenser.
KitchenAid also notes that rooms above 90°F cut ice production, which matters in a Texas garage bar or outdoor kitchen. Our Cleaning light and Filter light guides cover the owner steps, and our technicians handle the water valve, pump, bin sensor and refrigeration side.
Many KitchenAid dishwashers are panel-ready, and many refrigerators, wall ovens and cooktops are sized to an opening in custom cabinetry. Swapping one out can mean new panels, trim or cabinet work on top of the appliance. That makes a single-part repair, such as a drain pump, an inlet valve, a bake element or a door switch, more attractive than it would be on a freestanding unit.
We still give you a straight answer. If a KitchenAid needs several major parts, or the estimate climbs past about half the cost of a comparable new model, we tell you before you decide. Either way, you get the estimate in writing first.
Whirlpool Corporation acquired KitchenAid from Dart and Kraft in 1986 (Whirlpool Corporation (opens in a new tab)), and KitchenAid sits alongside Whirlpool and Maytag in the same company. A KitchenAid dishwasher also reports faults in the same F-and-E format you may have seen on a Whirlpool, read either on a display or as Clean light flashes.
KitchenAid still has its own features and codes: FreeFlex third racks and ProWash on dishwashers, Smart Oven+ attachments with their own F3E4 code, and a range F2 E1 that KitchenAid says can start with a backwards grate. Our guides follow KitchenAid’s help articles, and KitchenAid’s owner center has the manual for your model. For the rest of the family, see Whirlpool and Maytag.
KitchenAid dishwashers, refrigerators (French door, side-by-side, bottom-freezer and built-in), refrigerator ice makers, undercounter ice machines, ranges, wall ovens including Smart Oven+ models, cooktops, and over-the-range and built-in microwaves.
No. ALAS works on major appliances only. For stand mixers, blenders, toasters and other KitchenAid countertop products, KitchenAid runs a separate support line, 1-800-541-6390, listed on its contact pages.
No. We are a locally owned, independent repair company, and neither KitchenAid nor Whirlpool Corporation has any connection to us. Owners call us when the factory coverage is over, or simply because they want a technician from around here, and our own written warranty covers what we fix.
KitchenAid says its standard limited warranties typically last a year from delivery and vary by appliance and model, and that dishwasher coverage can start from 2 years. The terms for your appliance are printed in its manual, usually on the last page (KitchenAid warranty guide (opens in a new tab)). If it is still covered, start with KitchenAid.
Yes. Whirlpool Corporation acquired KitchenAid from Dart and Kraft in 1986 (Whirlpool Corporation (opens in a new tab)). Some KitchenAid codes follow the same F and E pattern as Whirlpool and Maytag. See our Whirlpool repair page for that side of the family.
Most often it is the filter, the drain hose or the disposer, and KitchenAid reports it as F9E1. Clean both filters, run the disposer, check the hose for kinks and confirm a new disposer’s knockout plug was removed. Our F9E1 guide walks through it.
KitchenAid lists low water pressure, an old filter, a loose drain cap, a kinked drain hose, a dirty condenser, scale buildup and room temperatures above 90°F. Start with our Cleaning light guide, then see KitchenAid ice maker repair.
KitchenAid doesn’t list washers or dryers among its current US major appliances, so we don’t have a dedicated page for them. If you have an older KitchenAid laundry pair, call us with the model number and we will tell you whether we can help.
KitchenAid says: on the left edge of the door on a dishwasher, on the left wall inside a refrigerator, beneath the lid on an ice maker, inside the door on a range, oven or microwave, and on the liner beneath the burners on a cooktop (KitchenAid model number guide (opens in a new tab)).
Every KitchenAid job is priced on its own parts and labor, so we look at the appliance first. Once we know the cause, you see a written estimate, and the work only goes ahead if you say yes. For today’s diagnostic fee, call (469) 638-3215.
Usually. KitchenAid appliances are often built into custom cabinetry, and many faults are a single pump, valve, sensor or switch. When an estimate passes about half the price of a comparable new model, we say so.
Ninety days on the repair, extended to six months for ALAS members. Compressor, refrigerant and other sealed-system repairs get 12 months for every customer. You’ll find the exact terms printed on the invoice we leave.
