Bosch Dishwasher E22: Time to Clean the Filter

E22 is the easiest Bosch code to clear yourself. The filter has collected more food than water can pass through, and a rinse at the sink usually solves it.

Bosch’s Explanation of E22

Bosch says an E22 code indicates that the dishwasher filter is blocked. The filter sits at the bottom of the tub, the area where food particles get caught, and Bosch notes it needs regular cleaning. Its fix is to take the filter out, wash it under running water with mild soap and a soft brush, and put it back. Cleaning a Bosch Filter

Bosch’s steps, from its E22 article and filter guide.

Remove it

Slide out the bottom rack, turn the filter knob to the left and lift the assembly up and out.

Wash every piece

Separate the parts from the screen and scrub each one under running water with mild soap and a soft brush.

Lock it back in

Drop the filter back into its opening and turn it until it seats firmly, then run a short cycle.

With the filter spotless and E22 still on the display, the code may be pointing to the drain path beyond the filter.→
