(469) 638-3215When both words blink, the refrigerator has switched off its own ice maker as a precaution. Sub-Zero’s reset is simple, and how often it recurs tells you what to do next.
Sub-Zero says Service and Ice flashing together on a 648PRO mean the ice maker has been shut down as a precaution, either because its water valve solenoid was energized too long or because the ice maker was disabled to prevent water leaking or water damage. The owner step is to turn the unit off for 10 seconds and back on with the On/Off or Power button. If only Service keeps flashing while Ice stays solid, the Service flashing guide applies instead. Sub-Zero adds that flashing which returns often within a short time calls for its Factory Certified Service, while a recurrence after six months or more can be reset again.
