(469) 638-3215A beeping Sub-Zero is usually telling the truth about a door. When the doors are closed and it still chimes, Sub-Zero’s checks narrow it down quickly.
On Classic Series (BI, CL) refrigeration, the alarm watches both refrigerator and freezer doors and drawers. Sub-Zero says CL models let you set the delay from 5 to 90 seconds under Settings, Alarm, Alarm Delay, and offer Snooze and Disable; BI models sound after roughly 30 to 60 seconds, with a delay and volume that can’t be changed. The Alarm button turns the feature on or off. If the bell icon shows but no chime sounds, Sub-Zero suggests resetting the breaker for 10 seconds; if only one side alarms, open that door fully and see whether it triggers after a minute. Sub-Zero’s beeping article adds that a beep with a service or wrench icon on Classic products means a major error code has been logged. Start with the doors, then rule out the rest of the kitchen.
Remove anything stopping a door or drawer from closing, and move the gallon-size door shelf if one is fitted.
Turn the unit off at the panel and wait 15 to 30 minutes. If the beeping goes on, it is coming from somewhere else.
Reset the breaker for 10 seconds if the bell shows with no chime, then open each door fully and see whether it alarms after a minute.

We adjust hinges, replace gaskets and test door switches on built-in and panel-ready units, with a written estimate first. We are independent of Sub-Zero, so contact Sub-Zero first while its warranty applies.

Sub-Zero lists an open door, a door blocked from sealing, another appliance nearby, or on Classic models a major error code when a service or wrench icon is showing.
Press the Alarm button. On CL models you can also tap Snooze until the door closes, or choose Disable and Yes.
On CL models, from 5 to 90 seconds. Sub-Zero says the BI delay of about 30 to 60 seconds is fixed.
Sub-Zero says the other door may be slightly open without the switch registering it. Open it fully and see whether the alarm sounds after one minute.
