Bosch Microwave Repair, Including Drawers
Bosch’s microwaves are built into the kitchen: drawers under the counter, speed ovens in the wall, over-the-range units above the cooktop. We repair each type in place, from a drawer that won’t glide open to a speed oven that stopped heating.

Every Bosch Microwave Style, Serviced in Place
Bosch sells four kinds of microwave in the US. Microwave drawers in the 800 Series come in 24 and 30-inch widths and slide out from below the counter. Built-in microwaves in the 300 and 500 Series sit in a wall or cabinet. Over-the-range models from the 100 to the 800 Series mount above a cooktop and vent it. The 30-inch speed oven in the 800 Series and Benchmark lines combines microwave and convection cooking, so it can reheat quickly or convection bake. Bosch lists E11 under ovens and microwaves together: the touch keys aren’t responding, possibly from condensation, and a dry cloth plus a 10-second power reset is Bosch’s fix. Faults inside the cabinet are a different matter, since a microwave holds high voltage even when unplugged. Across Dallas–Fort Worth, your technician handles those in your kitchen, testing the magnetron circuit, door switches, drawer mechanism, fan and control, with a written price first.
Let us know which style you have, drawer, speed oven, built-in or over-the-range, and its width. The E-Nr on the rating plate tells us the exact model.
Common microwave problems
Bosch Microwave Problems We Repair
Common symptoms and what usually causes them.
| Symptom | Common causes a technician checks | Guide |
|---|---|---|
| Runs but doesn’t heat | A fault in the high-voltage heating circuit, such as the magnetron, diode or capacitor, or a door switch. | Microwave repair |
| Keys don’t respond or E11 | Condensation on the touch keys, which Bosch names, or a worn keypad or control. | Bosch E11 guide |
| Drawer won’t open or close | Something blocking the track, a drawer motor or gear fault, or a sensor that no longer reads the drawer position. | Microwave repair |
| Speed oven won’t convection bake | A convection heater or fan fault while the microwave side still works, or a sensor or control fault. | Bosch oven repair |
| No power at all | A tripped breaker, an internal fuse that has opened, a failed door switch or a dead control board. | Microwave repair |
| Vent fan or light out | A failed fan motor, bulb or LED board, or the control that runs them on over-the-range models. | Microwave repair |
| Sparking inside | Foil or metal inside, a burned waveguide cover or chipped interior coating. Stop using it until checked. | Microwave repair |
| Turntable not turning | The glass tray sitting off its drive, worn rollers underneath, or a motor that has quit. | Microwave repair |
Bosch Microwave Parts We Repair
Parts for heating, doors, drawers and controls, ordered by your E-Nr.
Magnetrons and High-Voltage Parts
The magnetron, diode, capacitor and transformer that do the heating, tested only after the circuit is safely discharged.
Door Switches and Latches
The interlock switches that keep a Bosch microwave from running with the door open, plus the latch hooks that work them.
Drawer Mechanisms
Drawer motors, gears, tracks and position sensors on 24 and 30-inch 800 Series drawers, repaired with the unit in the cabinet when possible.
Touch Controls and Boards
Touch panels behind E11, keypad ribbons and the main control board that runs cooking modes and the clock.
Convection Elements and Fans
The convection heater and fan that let a 30-inch speed oven bake and roast as well as microwave.
Vent Fans and Lights
Vent motors, grease filters and cooktop lights on over-the-range models, along with the switches that run them.
Turntable Motors
Drive motors, couplers and roller rings for turntables that stop, stutter or grind.
Waveguide Covers
Waveguide covers that are burned or grease-soaked, a common source of sparking inside the cavity.
Repair or replace
Repair or Replace a Bosch Microwave?
A countertop microwave is easy to swap; a Bosch drawer, speed oven or built-in is not, and a replacement often needs the same cutout size to fit without cabinet work. Those are fitted to a cabinet opening and often to matching Bosch ovens beside them, which is why a repair is usually worth pricing first. Over-the-range units fall in between. Bosch covers its microwaves for 1 year on the entire appliance, parts and labor.
Usually worth repairing
- It is a drawer, speed oven or built-in model
- Only a switch, fan, light or drawer part failed
- It matches the wall oven or trim beside it
- The cavity and door are in good condition
Worth weighing carefully
- The cavity is rusted or the coating is burned
- Several high-voltage parts have failed
- It is an older over-the-range unit
- The estimate approaches a replacement

Safety
Sparks, Smoke or a Burning Smell?
Stop the microwave, keep the door closed and switch it off at the breaker. Don’t open the outer cabinet; the parts inside can hold a dangerous charge after power is off. Schedule service once it is safe; off-hours visits cost extra.

Bosch Microwave Questions
Yes. We service the 24 and 30-inch 800 Series microwave drawers, including the drawer motor and track, as well as built-in, over-the-range and speed oven models.
Bosch describes it as a 2-in-1 that combines microwave and convection cooking, offered as a 30-inch unit in the 800 Series and Benchmark lines (Bosch speed ovens (opens in a new tab)).
The usual causes are in the high-voltage heating circuit or a door switch. Those parts are dangerous to touch, so leave this one to a technician.
Bosch says the touch keys are not operating properly, possibly due to condensation. Wipe the panel dry and cut power for about 10 seconds; see our E11 guide.
Outside tasks such as cleaning the panel or replacing a grease filter, no. A microwave can hold a high-voltage charge after it is unplugged.
Bosch’s US warranty page lists 1 year of limited coverage, parts and labor, on the entire microwave (Bosch warranty information (opens in a new tab)). While that first year runs, Bosch support is the place to start. ALAS is independent, with no tie to Bosch or BSH; we take over once that coverage has lapsed, or any time you would rather have a local technician come out.
We cover Plano, Frisco, McKinney, Prosper, Southlake, Flower Mound, Dallas and Fort Worth.
Usually, yes. The convection heater and fan are separate parts from the microwave’s high-voltage circuit, so one side can stop working while the other still runs. Your technician tests both and prices only the part that failed.
