Bosch Dryer Repair for Ventless Compacts
Bosch dryers don’t vent outside. The 300 Series condenses moisture out of the air, and the 500 and 800 Series use a heat pump in a closed loop. We repair both kinds, stacked or side by side, starting with the filters and drain that keep them drying.

Why Bosch Dryers Need Different Checks
A vented dryer pushes damp air out of the house. A Bosch compact dryer keeps that air inside and pulls the water out of it, so the things that slow it down are different: lint on the filters, lint on the condenser, and a condensation drain that can’t get rid of the water. Bosch’s codes follow the same logic. E01 or E02 says the lint filter is blocked, and Bosch advises cleaning it after every load and rinsing it in warm water now and then. E03 means the condensation drainage hose is blocked or kinked. On condensation models, the condenser behind the maintenance flap needs regular cleaning; on the 500 Series heat pump dryer, Bosch’s Self-Cleaning Condenser rinses itself during each cycle. E06, a heating circuit fault, and the electronics codes E08, E09, E24, E25, E28 and E90 are another matter: Bosch says only an authorized technician can clear these and directs owners to Bosch support; out of warranty, our technician can test the circuit and puts the price in writing before starting. We service these compact dryers in houses, condos and townhomes across Dallas–Fort Worth.
Tell us whether your dryer is the condensation or heat pump type, and send the E-Nr from the rating plate. That tells us which condenser, filters and drain setup to expect.
Common dryer problems
Bosch Dryer Problems and Their Causes
Codes from Bosch’s US dryer list, plus common symptoms.
| Symptom | Common causes a technician checks | Guide |
|---|---|---|
| E01 or E02 | A blocked lint filter. Bosch says to clean it after each cycle and rinse it with warm water occasionally. | Dryer repair |
| E03 on the display | The condensation drainage hose at the back is kinked, bent or clogged with lint. | Dryer repair |
| Clothes still damp | Lint on the filters or condenser, an overloaded drum, or a heating or heat pump fault. | Dryer repair |
| Cycles running very long | Restricted airflow through lint-coated filters or a clogged condenser, or a heating fault. | Dryer repair |
| E06 heating circuit fault | Bosch says only an authorized technician can clear it and directs owners to Bosch support. | Dryer repair |
| Electronics codes E08 to E90 | E08, E09, E24, E25, E28 or E90. Bosch lists these as electronics faults only an authorized technician can clear and sends owners to its support. | Dryer repair |
| Drum won’t turn | A broken drive belt, a failed motor, or a door switch that doesn’t register the door as closed. | Dryer repair |
| Water on the floor | A loose, split or disconnected condensation drain hose. | Dryer repair |
Bosch Dryer Parts We Repair
Airflow, condensing, heating and drive parts matched to your Bosch E-Nr.
Lint Filters and Housings
Torn or warped lint filters and the housings they seat in, the parts behind E01 and E02 when cleaning no longer clears the code.
Condensers and Caps
Condensers and caps that won’t seat, lock or stay clean, along with the seals around the maintenance flap.
Condensation Drain Hoses
The hose, pump and fittings that carry condensation water away, behind E03 when straightening the hose doesn’t help.
Heat Pump Systems
The closed-loop refrigerant system that heats 500 and 800 Series heat pump dryers, diagnosed before any part is ordered.
Heating Circuits
Heating elements, thermal protectors and wiring on condensation models, the circuit behind E06.
Belts, Rollers and Motors
Drive belts, drum rollers and motors when the drum squeals, thumps or stays still while the dryer runs.
Door Switches and Latches
Door switches, latches and hinges when a closed door still won’t let a cycle start.
Electronics and Controls
Control boards, sensors and displays behind E08, E09, E24, E25, E28 and E90.
Repair or replace
Repairing a Bosch Compact Dryer
A slow or stopped Bosch dryer often needs cleaning or a single part rather than a new machine. Filters, condensers, drain hoses, belts and door switches are routine. A heat pump dryer is more complex, because its heat comes from a sealed refrigerant system, so a fault there deserves a careful estimate. Bosch covers its compact dryers for 1 year on the entire appliance, parts and labor.
Usually worth repairing
- The fix is a filter, condenser, hose or belt
- It is stacked on a matching Bosch washer
- The drum and bearings are quiet
- There is no electronics or heat pump fault
Worth weighing carefully
- The heat pump system itself has failed
- Several electronics codes keep appearing
- It is older with repeated repairs
- The estimate approaches a new compact dryer

Bosch Dryer Running Unusually Hot?
Stop the cycle, unplug the dryer and let it cool before opening any flap. Don’t restart it until the cause is known. Then schedule us; evening or off-hours visits cost extra.

Bosch Dryer Questions
No. Bosch describes its 500 Series compact pair as ventless, and its condensation and heat pump dryers remove moisture from the air inside the machine.
Bosch says the lint filter is blocked and needs cleaning. Clean it after each cycle and rinse it with warm water occasionally (Bosch dryer codes (opens in a new tab)).
Bosch says the condensation drainage hose is blocked or kinked. Unplug the dryer, straighten the hose at the back, clear it with a flexible brush, reattach it and run a short cycle, as Bosch’s E03 support article lays out.
With the dryer cool, put a towel under the maintenance flap, open it, turn the levers to release the cap and slide the condenser out without sharp tools. Rinse the cap and condenser, let them dry fully, then refit and lock them.
A heat pump dryer makes its heat with a refrigerant system rather than a heating element, which ENERGY STAR (opens in a new tab) says uses less electricity. If cycle times grow over months, clean the filters first, then book a check.
Bosch’s US warranty page lists 1 year of limited coverage, parts and labor, on the entire compact dryer (Bosch warranty information (opens in a new tab)). While that first year runs, Bosch support is the place to start. ALAS is independent, with no tie to Bosch or BSH; we take over once that coverage has lapsed, or any time you would rather have a local technician come out.
Homes, condos and apartments across Dallas–Fort Worth, including Plano, Frisco, Dallas, Irving, Richardson, The Colony and Fort Worth.
On a condensation or heat pump model, water outside the machine usually means the condensation drain is blocked, the drain hose has slipped from its outlet, or the condenser cap isn’t sealing. Check that the hose is attached and straight, and that the condenser is locked in place. If water keeps appearing, your technician tests the drain pump and seals.
