What Sud Means on a Maytag Washer
Maytag says Sud, or Sd on some displays, means there are excessive suds in the washer. The washer then runs a suds reduction routine on its own, and Maytag’s advice is to let it continue rather than cancel. HE washers use very little water, so regular detergent, or too much HE detergent, can foam over. Maytag also warns that overdosing causes longer cycles, poor rinsing and poorer cleaning.
