(469) 638-3215LF on a Bravos, Bravos XL or other Maytag top-loader means long fill. Most of the time the fix is at the faucets or the drain hose, and this page walks through both.
Maytag uses LF, Lo FL and F8 E1 for the same condition: the washer is taking too long to fill. Maytag’s top-load washers need both hot and cold water flowing to the valve, so one closed faucet is enough to trigger it. A drain hose pushed too deep into the standpipe can also siphon water out as it fills. When the washer senses a supply problem, Maytag says the lid locks and the washer pumps out for 8 minutes, so wait for that to finish. Codes vary by model; your manual has the list for yours. LF usually shows up in one of these ways.
Maytag lists these causes. The first three are things you can check.
Work through Maytag’s checks in this order before booking a visit.
Turn the hot and cold faucets behind the washer all the way open and confirm both inlet hoses are attached and free of kinks. Maytag says both supplies must flow.
Only about 4.5 inches of drain hose should sit inside the standpipe, held by the U-shaped hose form. Don’t seal the opening with tape. Maytag’s minimum standpipe height is 39 inches.
Straighten the drain hose and clear a blocked laundry sink if the washer drains into one, then start a new cycle.

Yes. Maytag groups all three as long fill: the washer is taking too long to fill. Which one you see depends on the display on your model.
Moves often leave a faucet partly closed, kink an inlet hose or push the drain hose too far into the standpipe. Maytag says only about 4.5 inches of hose belongs in the standpipe; deeper than that and it can siphon.
Maytag says when the washer doesn’t sense both supplies, the lid locks and it pumps out for 8 minutes. Let that finish before you open it.
Yes. If both faucets are open, pressure is good and the hose setup is right, a technician checks the inlet valve, its screens and the pressure sensing before replacing anything.
