Maytag Oven F2 E0: Keypad and Control Error

F2 E0 is different from a plain F2. It points at the touch keypad side of the oven, which is why the controls may beep, freeze or ignore your presses.

What F2 E0 Means

Maytag says F2 E0 means there may be a problem with the user interface or keypad, the control or the associated wiring. Maytag notes these codes can be shown as F# E# or E# F#, so E0 F2 is the same code. Moisture from cleaning sprays, a pressed-in key or a worn ribbon connection are common reasons a keypad faults. Maytag files this code under wall ovens; check your manual if you have a range. Source: Maytag F2 E0 wall oven code (opens in a new tab).

Maytag’s Steps for F2 E0

The same breaker reset Maytag uses for its other oven codes.

1

Cut power for 1 minute

Switch the oven breaker or breakers off for one minute, then back on.

2

Watch the display

Give it a minute to see whether the code reappears, then try a few keys to confirm they respond.

3

Keep the panel dry

Clean the control panel with a lightly damp cloth, never sprayed cleaner, so liquid doesn’t reach the keypad.

If F2 E0 comes back, the keypad and control need testing.→

When to Call a Technician

Schedule a repair if:

  • F2 E0 returns after the reset
  • Keys press themselves or won’t respond
  • The oven beeps without stopping
  • The oven won’t start any function

Maytag F2 E0 Questions

Maytag ties F2 to the oven temperature sensor, control or wiring, and F2 E0 to the user interface or keypad, control or wiring.

A shorted key can make the control think a key is held down. Try the breaker reset; if the beeping and code return, the keypad needs testing.

On many models, yes. A technician tests the keypad and the control separately so you only replace the part that failed.

Yes. Maytag says codes may appear as F# E# or E# F#.
