(469) 638-3215Clothes sitting in water with E2 on the panel? Frigidaire points to five things to look at, starting at your breaker box rather than inside the washer.
Frigidaire describes E2 as water taking too long to drain, or not draining properly. Its checks begin with the fuse or circuit breaker, then the height of the drain standpipe, the lid, and the drain hose for kinks or clogs. Frigidaire also notes that for safety the washer will not spin unless the lid is closed, so an open lid can look like a drain failure. If the washer was installed or moved in the last 30 days, Frigidaire says to contact the installer. Source: Frigidaire E2 slow drain (opens in a new tab).

Typical things owners see.
Frigidaire’s checklist first, then the part behind it.
Unplug the washer before you handle the drain hose.
Check the panel for a tripped breaker or blown fuse on the washer circuit. Reset it once; if it trips again, leave it off.
Close the lid and press Start/Pause. Frigidaire says the washer won’t spin with the lid open.
Straighten any kink, clear a visible clog and confirm the standpipe height matches your installation instructions.

Frigidaire says the water is taking too long to drain, or is not draining properly.
Frigidaire puts the fuse or breaker first on its E2 checklist. Without full power the drain can’t run normally.
You can lower the drain hose into a bucket to let gravity empty the tub, with the washer unplugged. Expect a lot of water and have towels ready.
If water backs up out of the standpipe or other drains are slow, the clog is in the plumbing, and a plumber is the right call.
