(469) 638-3215When the dispenser alarm sounds and DI SP appears, a cube or clump is stuck between the bin and the door. Frigidaire walks you through clearing it.
Frigidaire says DI SP or DISP indicates ice jammed in the chute, and the alarm sounds when a cube stays stuck too long. Its two causes: ice that melted and refroze around the auger because of infrequent use, temperature swings or power outages, and cubes wedged between the ice maker and the back of the bin. The fix is to remove the bin, thaw and empty it, clean and dry it and put it back; Frigidaire says the dispenser should work once new ice is made. From Frigidaire’s article and its no-ice guide.
Never chip at the chute with a knife or sharp tool.
Remove the ice bin, let the clump thaw, empty it, then clean and dry the bin before reinstalling it.
Frigidaire says not to rotate the auger while the bin is out. If it turned, realign it in 45-degree steps until the bin seats.

Frigidaire says DI SP or DISP means ice is jammed in the dispenser chute.
Frigidaire links it to infrequent use, temperature swings and power outages, which let cubes melt and refreeze together.
Frigidaire says the dispenser shuts off after 3 minutes of continuous use to protect the motor. Release the paddle to reset it.
Some Frigidaire refrigerators sold April 2020 to March 2022 were recalled over the ice maker’s detector arm. Check your serial number at icemakerrecall.com (opens in a new tab) or read the CPSC notice (opens in a new tab).
