(469) 638-3215A blinking Clean Lint light worries plenty of Frigidaire owners. Frigidaire says it is normal, but the reminder behind it is worth taking seriously.
Frigidaire says the Clean Lint light illuminates, and on some models blinks, after each drying cycle, and that it may keep blinking as part of normal operation even after the filter is cleaned. So the light alone isn’t a fault. The habit it encourages is: Frigidaire recommends cleaning the lint screen before or after every load, washing it in warm soapy water now and then, and inspecting and cleaning the entire outdoor exhaust and venting every 18 months. Confirmed for Frigidaire laundry centers; check your guide for a standalone dryer. Sources: laundry center lights (opens in a new tab) and lint and vent care (opens in a new tab).

Unplug the dryer before moving it. Gas dryers: don’t strain the gas line.
Pull the lint screen before or after each load. Every so often, wash it in warm soapy water and let it dry fully. Never run the dryer without it.
Frigidaire says the vent hood damper should open freely, with no screen over it and at least 12 inches of clearance below.
Frigidaire suggests inspecting and cleaning the whole exhaust run every 18 months. ALAS offers dryer vent cleaning.

Frigidaire says overloading can overheat an electric dryer’s motor and trip a thermal limiter that shuts it off. Let it cool for about 30 minutes and dry a smaller load; if it keeps stopping, a service provider replaces the limiter. See Frigidaire’s article (opens in a new tab).
