LG dryers with Flow Sense show d75, d80, d90 or d95 when the exhaust airflow is restricted. LG says the number is roughly the percentage of blockage somewhere between the dryer and the outside vent. On gas dryers, d80 can also mean the dryer isn’t getting gas.

Try these steps in order. Unplug the appliance or switch off the breaker before reaching inside or removing panels.
Clean the lint filter
Remove lint after every load and wash the filter with warm water and a soft brush now and then. Let it dry before reinstalling.
Check the hose behind the dryer
Make sure the exhaust hose isn’t crushed, kinked or coiled like a spring, has no holes and is connected securely. A gentle S-curve is fine.
Check the outside vent
Find the vent outlet outside and make sure the flap opens fully and isn’t clogged with lint.
Have the duct cleaned
If the code continues, the duct inside the wall likely needs cleaning. LG recommends a professional vent cleaning once a year.
When to Call a Technician
Schedule a repair if:
- The code continues after cleaning the filter and hose
- The vent runs a long way or goes through the roof
- A gas dryer shows d80 and doesn’t heat
