What Does Whirlpool F3E0 Mean?

Whirlpool says F3E0 means there may be a problem with the oven temperature sensor, the control or the wiring between them. Older displays show the same fault as F3-1. Without a good sensor reading, the oven can’t hold its temperature and may stop heating. Source: Whirlpool F3E0 support page (opens in a new tab).

How to Fix Whirlpool F3E0

Try these steps in order. Let the oven cool completely before touching the sensor inside.

1

Reset the range

Switch off the breaker for 1 minute, turn it back on and watch the range for 1 minute to confirm normal operation.

2

Look at the sensor

The sensor is the thin rod near the top back of the oven. Whirlpool’s oven guide notes it should sit at a right angle and not touch the wall.

3

Run a test bake

Set the oven to 350°F and check that it preheats normally. If the code returns, stop using the oven and book a repair.

If F3E0 returns after the reset, schedule a diagnosis.→

When to Call a Technician

Schedule a repair if:

  • F3E0 returns after the reset
  • The oven won’t reach temperature
  • Food burns or stays raw
  • The sensor is bent or loose

Whirlpool Oven F3E0 FAQs

Whirlpool says F3E0 may mean a problem with the oven temperature sensor, the control or the wiring. Reset the breaker for 1 minute; if the code returns, a technician should test the sensor and wiring.

Yes. Whirlpool describes F3-1 the same way: a problem with the oven temperature sensor, control or associated wiring. It appears on older display styles.

Often the cooktop still works, but every model is different. If the oven control is affected, stop using the range and book a repair.

The sensor is usually an inexpensive part. Your technician confirms whether the sensor, wiring or control is at fault before any work, and you get a written estimate first.
