What Does Samsung UB / UE Mean?
A UB or UE code (Ub or U6 on some models) means the laundry is unevenly distributed and the washer can’t balance it for the spin. Samsung notes that a Ur code is different: it just means the washer is rebalancing on its own, which is normal.

How to Fix Samsung UB / UE
Try these steps in order. Unplug the appliance or switch off the breaker before reaching inside or removing panels.
Redistribute the load
Untangle the laundry, spread it evenly around the drum, close the door and press Start.
Balance heavy items
Add a few towels to a single heavy item, or split a very large load into two.
Level the washer
Check that the washer doesn’t rock. Adjust the leveling legs until all four sit firmly on the floor.
Watch for a repeat
If UB or UE keeps appearing with normal loads, have the washer checked.
When to Call a Technician
Schedule a repair if:
- UB or UE appears on normal, even loads
- The washer is level but still shakes hard
- You hear grinding or knocking during spin
- The drum feels loose or moves more than usual
