How to Fix Samsung 5C / 5E / nd
Try these steps in order. Unplug the appliance or switch off the breaker before reaching inside or removing panels.
Check the drain hose
Pull the washer out and make sure the drain hose isn’t kinked, crushed or clogged.
Clean the debris filter

If you see heavy suds, run a rinse and spin with no detergent and use less HE detergent going forward.
Reset and test
Unplug the washer for about a minute, restore power and run a rinse and spin.

Schedule a repair if:

Samsung Washer 5C / 5E / nd FAQs
5C, 5E and nd mean the washer can’t drain properly, usually because of a kinked hose, a clogged debris filter or a failing drain pump.
On most Samsung front-load washers it is behind a small cover at the bottom front corner. Top-load models often don’t have a user-cleanable filter.
Yes. Excess suds can stop the pump from draining properly. Use HE detergent and only the recommended amount.
If the hose and filter are clear and you can’t hear the pump running during drain, the drain pump likely needs to be replaced.
