Samsung Dishwasher Error Code LC / LE: What It Means and How to Fix It
Seeing LC / LE on your Samsung dishwasher? Here is what Samsung says it means, the checks you can safely do yourself, and when to call a technician.
What Does Samsung LC / LE Mean?
An LC or LE code means the leak sensor in your Samsung dishwasher has detected water. The dishwasher may turn itself on and keep draining to clear the water. On Waterwall models, Samsung notes that a blocked water reflector can also trigger it.

What Causes Samsung LC / LE?
These are the causes Samsung lists and the parts a technician checks.
How to Fix Samsung LC / LE
Try these steps in order. Unplug the appliance or switch off the breaker before reaching inside or removing panels.
Check the detergent
Use only dishwasher detergent in the recommended amount. Hand dishwashing liquid creates too many suds.
Check the water reflector
On Waterwall models, make sure dishes aren’t blocking the water reflector.
Clean the door gasket
Wipe food and grease off the door gasket and sealing area so the door seals properly.
Let the base dry
Turn off the power and let the base pan dry, then restore power and run a short cycle.
When to Call a Technician
Schedule a repair if:
- LC or LE returns after the base is dry
- You see water dripping from hoses or the pump
- The door gasket is torn or damaged
- The dishwasher leaks onto the floor

Samsung Dishwasher LC / LE FAQs
LC and LE are leak codes. The leak sensor found water in the base, so the dishwasher stops and tries to drain it.
When the leak sensor detects water, the dishwasher runs the drain pump to clear it. It will keep doing so until the sensor dries.
Yes. Samsung notes that a blocked water reflector on Waterwall models can trigger the leak code.
If the code returns after the base is dry and detergent and the gasket check out, a hose, seal or valve may be leaking.
